About
About Frameperfectguide
A small independent guide to gaming culture, written for people standing just outside it.
What this site is for
Frameperfectguide explains three corners of gaming culture that newcomers and parents often find baffling: speedrunning, esports and live streaming. We aim to answer the questions people actually ask, such as what a "category" is, why a team that lost is still in the tournament, or what a streamer means by a raid, in plain British English.
Who is behind it
The site is published by Redline Frame Media Ltd, based in Manchester, United Kingdom. We write as an editorial team rather than as named personalities, and we do not present any individual as an expert witness. Opinions, where we give them, are labelled as our editorial view.
How the site is funded
It is not monetised. There are no adverts, no affiliate links, no sponsored posts and no paid placements, and no organiser, publisher or platform has asked us to cover anything. That keeps us free to describe things as they are.
What we do not do
We do not sell anything, run competitions, collect sign-ups or accept accounts. We do not claim to have tested games or equipment. When a fact matters, such as a platform's minimum age, we link to the official page we read and show the date we last checked it. Our method is set out in full on how we work.
